Seniors

ESM provides a number of special services for senior citizens including:

Lunches: Senior citizens can purchase lunches in any school building on any school day for the teachers' lunch price. Large groups must call in advance.

Tax Reduction: Residents 65 or older whose annual income meets a certain standard can qualify for a school tax reductionof up to 50%. Call your town assessor's office for details and the necessary form. Click here for more information on this program.

Transportation: Local organized senior citizen groups may use district school buses. The distance is limited to 50 miles in one direction unless otherwise authorized by the School Superintendent. The sponsoring organization pays mileage costs and wages for the driver at district rates. Call the bus garage (434-3460) for arrangements.
