Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremonies are held biennially on odd-numbered years (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2025) A ceremony for athletes, coaches and other individuals is typically held in January, while a team induction is held in the Fall.
Timeline for Individual Nominations (Athletes, Coaches, Distinguished Service)
May 1: Nomination deadline for individuals (Even-numbered years 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024)
May: Committee meets to narrow pool of nominees and establishes slate of candidates
June 1: Candidate slate distributed to committee and past recipients
July 1: Committee and past recipients finalize new inductees
Aug 1: Inductees announced and invited
January: Induction ceremony for individual athletes/coaches/distinguished service (odd-numbered years: 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2025)
1. Athlete: Must have graduated at least 10 years ago by June of the current year* Considerations: State champion, All-state, All-American, school record holder, multi-sport accomplishments, good moral character
2. Coach: Must have retired 10 years ago by June of the current year* Considerations: Years of service, number of seasons, number of sports, good moral character, wins
3. Other (Distinguished service to the athletic program) Accomplishments 10 years ago or more by June of the current year *
* Posthumous candidates are accepted. Unsuccessful nominees will be considered for 4 additional years before they need to be re-submitted.
