Thursday, May 15, 2008
The winner of the 2008 Auto Technology class restoration project, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS, was Mr. Tony Coffey of Burlington, NC with winning ticket # 4244
The ESM Automotive Technology Club restored and
raffled a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS. The
pictures below show the 2007/08 class project. This is the third year that ESM automotive technology students have
raffled a car that provided a hands-on learning experience throughout the school year.
This year they restored a
1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS. The past two years students have built Shelby Cobra replicas from a kit
Proceeds will again be used for a project for the next school year (08-09). Graduating seniors also receive mechanics tools.
Each project has given students hands-on automotive experience and follows what a textbook teaches. The Camaro will be raffled to purchase a project car for 2008-2009 to keep the program self-sustaining.
This year the department teamed up with Right Coast Association (Right Coast Cars), to display our students work at the Syracuse Nationals July 18-20, 2008 .
