Prepaid Lunches: All K-12 cafeterias use an automated point-of-sale system that allows for prepayment for meals up to a year in advance. Parents may send cash or checks made out to "ESM Food Service" to their child's' school cafeteria. Students may also make prepayments with the cashier at lunch or breakfast. Please use the printable prepay deposit form and clearly print the child's name and pin number on the envelope for accurate recording. Please make out separate checks for students in different buildings.

Board Policy on Meal Charging: The new Board Policy was established according to New York State child nutrition guidelines. The policy is consistent with other districts in the area.

Any student that has exceeded his/her grade level charging limit, including high school students, will be offered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and skim milk or an alternate if he/she has documented allergies.

High School

No charging of any type allowed

Pine Grove
Middle School

Up to 3 reimbursable meals may be charged. No ala carte food charging.

Elementary Schools

Up to 3 reimbursable meals may be charged.

The Board of Education establishes prices based on cost of materials, labor, government aid, and number of students buying lunch each day.

All meals are prepared in the central kitchen at the High School and then delivered to the various schools for final preparation and distribution. Deli and salad bar are now available at the middle and high schools. The secondary lunch program provides students with a variety of food options.

Nancy Kerrigan is ESM's School Lunch Director. For Food Service questions: call 434-3304 or email esmfoodservice@esmschools.org.

Because children have different nutritional requirements at each age level, there is a different menu for elementary, middle and high school lunches. Students may pick one entree and have their choice of 2-4 side dishes.
