Occupational therapists work with children and their families
at home and at school focusing on the areas of:

  • Prevocational and Vocational Skills
  • Play and Leisure Skills
  • Overall Health and Wellness

Physical therapists will likely do the following things
 in a school environment:

  • Observe and analyze the way your child moves and plays
  • Observe and modify how your child walks (a child's gait)
  • Strength training
  • Stretching exercises to improve muscle flexibility
  • Balance and coordination activities to decrease falls and injuries
  • Adaptive play activities to allow a chid to participate in school or recreational activities such as T-ball or basketball
  • Safety with stairs and walking in hallways
