ESM DECA Shines at State Conference

ESM DECA students had an outstanding showing at the New York DECA State Career Conference in Rochester. Four teams qualified for the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia and the chapter earned nine Top 10 awards across multiple competitive events.
The teams advancing to the international conference include:
- Sales Project – $ales for Success (2nd place): Ava Burry, Khloe Welch, Emma Wilson-Hefti
- Career Development Project – Empower U (3rd place): Jared Bricco, Ososeno Ikhide, Jasmine Kennedy
- Financial Literacy Project – Spooky Spartan Savings (4th place): Amra Delic, Hailey Jacobs
- Innovation Plan – Ejla’s Bouquets (6th place): Ejla Muhic
Individual students earning top 10 awards include Jared Bricco, Ava Burry, Amra Delic, Ososeno Ikhide, Hailey Jacobs, Jasmine Kennedy, Ejla Muhic, Khloe Welch, and Emma Wilson-Hefti.
During opening ceremonies, Ososeno Ikhide, Matthew McDonald, Ejla Muhic and Emma Wilson-Hefti were inducted into the New York DECA Honor Society for 2025–26.
ESM DECA also earned Thrive Level in the DECA Chapter Campaign, a recognition given to chapters that complete at least two of the three main campaigns: Community Service, Promotional or Innovations and Entrepreneurship. This honor, achieved by only 14 schools in New York, awards the chapter a pennant, flag, plaque, and up to two spots at Thrive Academy at ICDC. Emma Wilson-Hefti played a key role in helping the chapter achieve this distinction, with Brady Leib and Avery Wood attending Thrive Academy.
