ESM Spartan Stage Musical is “Anastasia”

ESM's Spartan Stage will present “Anastasia: The Musical” on February 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. and March 1 at 2 & 7 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. Visit esmschools.org/musical for $10 tickets.

The story transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s. This enchanting musical—based on the 1997 animated film—follows Anya, a young woman with amnesia, as she searches for her true identity and family. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure filled with drama, music, and discovery.

“This musical will be visually spectacular,” said Director Aimee deBergeois. Spartan Stage is using state-of-the-art digital projectors and the Broadway backdrops. The show will also feature stunning costumes, dazzling ballroom and 1920s party dancing, plus a snippet of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet!

Audience favorites like “Once Upon a December” and “Journey to the Past” will accompany the captivating story. The musical features a book by Terrence McNally and a score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.

“It’s going to be amazing! Don't miss this one,” Mrs. deBergeois said.
